One Pack, Many recipes!
For the love and variety of flavours, all of us are constantly searching for something new and interesting to try. May it be scrolling through reels of quick and yummy recipes or trying to make the best of what ingredients and veggies are at home; to get out of eating the same repetitive recipes every day. The search always continues and funnily enough, this is the only place where change is wanted and change is actively searched for.
And we, the R&D team decided to carry out this task itself. The task of coming up with creative and easy recipes to make from just one Amboli Ready-mix, because that is what the need of the hour is - newer ways to consume yummy food.
To give a quick overview, when we first launched our Amboli ready-mix, its authentic recipe was validated by elderly Konkani aajis (grandmas) who had made Ambolis all their lives from scratch. As Amboli is a traditional Konkani recipe, it holds a special place in the culture of many Maharashtrians and in order to be able to give that same taste was what we strived for. I do remember, one aaji gave her thumbs up by ordering 5 packs of our Amboli Mix to make and feed her family at home. That kind of validation was what we needed to finally spring into action and share our ready-mix baby with the world!
Then, we discovered that presenting an entire platter of recipes was an exciting way to present TFL’s ready-mixes to its customers – a deal that gets you 7 additional recipes with the already delectable Amboli recipe. These were - Plain Amboli, Dahi Appe Chaat, Masala Amboli, Corn pepper Appe, Chilli Paniyaram, Chocolate pancakes, Cheesy Tandoori bites and Masala Uthappam.
For this, we had to start off by navigating through different combinations of ingredients which could give us a satisfactory appearance, taste, texture and mouthfeel. We also tried to prepare all the recipes with the least number of ingredients, minimum preparation process, a minimal set of utensils and tried to have the recipe ready as quickly as possible.
With all this in mind, we directed ourselves to watch recipe after recipe to choose particular ingredients and plan combinations which could turn out good and bring out their best flavours. It was a task that required immense research but it wasn’t impossible as our amboli ready-mix acts as a good base to build recipes on. It contains a blend of chawal, udad dal, and methi seeds and thus possesses a mild flavour that goes amazingly well with most ingredients and sauces.
Our aim was to create recipes for all age groups but specifically youngsters – as they are the trickiest ones to please. This, thus brought forward research into flavours which matched the ‘vibe’ of the new generation. This included cuisines like traditional Indian, Chinese, Italian, Mexican and chocolatey desserts to satisfy the sweet tooth. 
Ideas for new recipes were sought from all directions. We conducted a sensory evaluation study where a group of young taste-testers consumed all eight recipes. Their feedback, ideas from friends, co-workers, and online recipe research helped shape the final product. Even our in-house team extensively experimented towards achieving a core goal that stood behind developing all of our recipes i.e. a perfect harmony of ingredients and flavours.
Through countless trials and refinements to each recipe, we came out with a balance of taste that delivered unique burst of flavours in every hungry bite!
